I want to be clear that biraderi is an issue it's the caste system all over again. And for Muslims we are supposed to treat everyone equally. So I think the breaking of that Atleast in terms of politics is a good thing. I recognise other communities have similar loose networks (freemasons, etc) but I think addressing the problem of biraderi politically is a good thing to go after. And id rather people on the left address it than the far right

What is the newest saying "she must be living in an upside-down world, because all of the real world see what they are doing we see the dead babies, we see the dead children that are targeted by their soldiers 😢😢😢. There is something terribly wrong with these people.

great interview. meadway fits in like a glove with the greens! understands how our potential coalition differs so much from labour's tradition and how it could be an asset. and serious about dealing with economic shocks, which is the whole reason i became a green supporter in the first place back in 2013. this was all broadly predictable and the sooner we prepare ourselves for the future the better.

So they don't like bailiffs. Bet she'd squeal like a pig if someone owed her money and the world just shrugged it's shoulders and told her to get it herself. Working class people need a way of getting their money back as well. Supporting these morons is a step backwards.

Where does she get her information from? Why is she so confident of her claim that they are not committing genocide? Do you think she assumes her own Facebook feed reflects the underlying reality?

China faces ENORMOUS demographic issues. But if they can overcome them maybe they deserve superpower status. I don't think they wiil though; the ever present centripetal forces that operate just below the glossy and glitzy exterior will return China to what it has been throughout its history: a collection of warring kingdoms.

That female elderly Tory voter was literally parroting GB News talking points about Green Party policy. “Legalising drugs”, “open borders” 🤦‍♂️ Our media are failing us

Any political system that works for the minority and keeps the majority in debt and poverty is known as capitalism...a clear humanitarian disaster!!!? China exposed the shortcomings of capitalism and prove that you can do things differently and be very successful!!!!

"Fun" fact: The Managing Director of Birmingham has a salary twice as high as that of the Norwegian Prime Minister. Despite Norway obviously being much wealthier and with a much larger population.

This is such a shame. I worked for Birmingham City Council in the mid 80s and even did a short stint in the Mayors office, and back then it was a well run Council. The investment into higher education opened doors for so many of us, and the city built genuinely strong universities. I left Birmingham in the early 2000s, and looking at the situation now I cannot help wondering what happened.

10 hours a day 6 days a week! And billionaires start crying and lobbying when their non existent taxes are increased by 1%. They peddle the lie that we’re lazy and just not working the system right but they wouldn’t tolerate a day in our shoes. We are the real backbone of this country, they are mosquitos 🦟.

The problem with democracy is that the leaders alwyas think they have the mandate of the people when in reality they often don't even have the mandate of the majority and the fracturing of political parties further increases the disconnect until the systems shatter completely like we are seeing with the US. In a authoritarian system, they always need to gauge the people for their reaction because they fear a revolution.

Very shallow No mention of the Oligarchy that has caused the downfall of the Empire? No inkling of the history of China either! China's history show zero hegemony Anaylysing China through Anglo Prism! Good Luck!

I wonder why Birmingham in particular is so politically divided, that is to say, diverse? Truly one of the great mysteries of the universe. Really gets the noggin' joggin'.

Very interesting- thank you guys. Three things to highlight that might be interesting... 1. Is China itself not a product of the global structure the US set up and guaranteed. E.g. Global trade, marine law, UN, WTO etc.. 2. It seems to me that China has become successful by introducing liberal concepts from the West e.g. private property rights, stock markets, entrepreneurship (20million entrepreneurs in China now). 3. China not proven to pluralise development to large degree. Yes the cities look shiny but there is vast poor under class which we would call slavery in the west. Peace

Can’t they just pull up google maps and zoom in to show the cities that have been flattened with bombs and bulldozed? Ask her to explain the square miles of bulldozer tracks, that would be interesting… aliens?

Upto 17 mins; I remember in mid to late 200'0s people: uni students, post uni students perhaps on the left but major pro psychology and environmental types were trying to re-constitute or re-construct physical and bodily action, such that it would be presented in a form that could be deconstructed. It seemed to me they wanted to extend Derrida's conflation of speech (act) to writing (Derrida on Husserl and J L Austin "Speech and Phenomenon") to include bodily movements. Their interest in me was i was using dance notation for body movements to try and "de-symbolise" the movement. ie show how some writable movements, positions were physically impossible. A kind of transcendental argument using body possibility as limit to symbolism. I began this though from a book my mate by Bruce Lee with a sphere around the body as an image of finitude and an interview with Sylvester Salone on theatre film and action from the "Actors Studio". It became clear to me that i and they had very different aim here, they were doing this in terms of psychology and control, drawing on Reich and Kinesthetics. They wanted i think a grammar of the body so they can apply Derrida's deconstruction of writing "On Grammatology" to action. eg make perhaps to make "man spreading" an "objective" scientific privileging harm. They had previously attempted a similar move in re-expressing Animal welfare away from just Animal Rights. Once these psychologist-feminists mention Reich though I'm off.

How can they be centrists when the only political icon they have is Che Guevara? It’s like they are just saying that to be edgy. The prophet Mohammed taught kindness to all creatures.
