This is such a shame. I worked for Birmingham City Council in the mid 80s and even did a short stint in the Mayors office, and back then it was a well run Council. The investment into higher education opened doors for so many of us, and the city built genuinely strong universities. I left Birmingham in the early 2000s, and looking at the situation now I cannot help wondering what happened.

10 hours a day 6 days a week! And billionaires start crying and lobbying when their non existent taxes are increased by 1%.
