It's not a "failure of integration". If you don't understand that islam is a conquering ideology then you don't understand that you have just taken in your own conquerors. What integration? What? Do people believe that you can first take in your own conquerors and then tell them to integrate? What? What are people thinking? Is it so that people do not understand the _very basics that what islam is_ ? How can that be? What happened to the school education? Islam? Muslims? What is that? Oh lord. Fools. Good luck.

Wow. I think the only commentator left in Britain with good judgement, intellect and a desire to fix problems is Andrew Neal. The fact that this complete dud, this Kevin Rowlands character, is so mushy, fuzzy, non goal oriented, avoidant of a sense of responsibility and does not seem at all focused on protecting the UK by somehow fixing it's military/navy - this is the same guy that is supposed to be an intellectual leader of the navy. The UK continues to surprise me on the downside. Not a nation that I as an American would feel safe relying on as a wartime ally. Just too incompetent a culture to truly place confidence in. So who can the USA turn to, especially now that Trump has betrayed Canada and alienated the entire continent of Europe?

i think andrew neil could have pushed more on accountability & the abundance of admirals, rather than simply wafting what are pretty obvious issues. it seems we're well past the time to allow deference to hide what is clearly profound corruption

£1bn per day on welfare and £550m per day on the NHS whilst only £170m per day for defence. We could reduce the welfare bill by only 10%, divert that money to defence and increase the defence budget by 58%. No brainer considering the amount of people play acting to claim PIP.

The navy is going to get worse for years before it might get better. Heads should roll but they won't. The M.O.D. is not fit for purpose. The type 23 frigates were good work horse ships but their replacements were ordered too late and that's why the navy is in so much trouble today. Nine frigates under construction but as they enter service more type 23's will be retired so it's going to be many years before the navy recovers

Hull 3-6 of the T31 are going to Denmark to keep the yard open… how about turning all those wind turbine sheds into ship yards and make something useful with UK steel.. when was the last thresher course run? Are there even 4 astute crews?

how about just stop selling your ships for pennies to the pound to another navy. Brazil owns the entire ex amphibious force, HMS ocean, Albion, and bulwark. Chilli owns 3 ex iron dukes. Sold all those ships for less than the 20% of the price of a new frigate.

The Labour government says Andy Burnham couldn't stand for parliament, because it trigger a Mayoral election. Yet Labour allowed Dan Jarvis to stand as South Yorkshire mayor, while still a MP. I think MP and mayors etc are greedy and want to 'double dip' into 'index linked' pensions...

Find someone who is going to tell it as it is, rather than someone who appears to be covering up the complete clusterf that is now our not-very-armed forces. I would be surprised if the British military could last a month in a peer-to-peer fight. Hopeless.

Who is Surprised ? Britain will have its own Oct 7 and then balkanization it is only a matter of time, the establishment made a experiment of the UK one that has never worked anywhere in history without conflict and civil war. Diversity has never been a strength.

Andrew is asking why for some Muslims G a Z a is more important than bread and butter issues, that's because our politicians are complicit in the atrocities committed in our name by a foreign country we support. Those people have principles, unlike you Andrew and this Fitaz Mughal guy who is just another attention seeker speaking for the Muslim community. Maybe our politicians should stop supporting other corrupt countries and concentrate on our people.

There is a liberal desire to demonstrate multi-culturalism can work in the West in the way it does not anywhere else. A new white man's burden. Of course, the fiscal failure of Labour and the Tories over the years have left us requiring immigration to pay for pensions as those governments spent the taxes instead of investing and now only the wealthy few can now afford children. Saving the UK is long past possible.

Building additional vessels to an existing design is the lowest-cost way to increase capability. The UK Government should order more T31 frigates to directly follow-on from the five currently on order. Four are already under construction at Rosyth. This order should be placed now, so the extra ships can be delivered from 2031 onwards. If Rachel Reeves won't find the money, find another Chancellor.

Imagine if we didn't just burn the stuff, and kept it for important things like fertiliser, plastics and other valuable products. AI data centers are at extreme risk from the helium problem, and that's a problem for all of us because AI is a bubble fuelled on debt, and when debt gets called in we saw what happened in 2008.

HOW CAN STARMER BE GENUINE SAYING HES TAKING STEPS TO STOP ANTI SEMISTISM WHEN AT SAME TIME HES BENDING OVER BACKWARDS COURTING THE MUSLIM AND ISLAMIC VOTERS.BY NOT BEING TOUGH WITH THE EU AND MACRON HES ALLOWING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OF THE MUSLIM FAITH INTO A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY. ANY IDIOT COULD SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN.BUT STARMER IS PUTTING HIMSELF FIRST AND STUFF THE CHRISTIAN BRITONS

In the 1980s, HMS Hermes was scheduled to be sold to India, and HMS Invincible was in the process of being sold to Australia. If the Argentines had waited a few more months before invading the Falklands, they would have won by default.

Just remember these people made villians out of Tommy Robinson when he was talking about this 15 to 20 years ago They are snakes in the grass who are being forced to confront reality & remove their head out of the sand now that it is no longer politically expediant to keep it buried

I think reciprocal radicalisation is already happening and I'm not completely shocked by the results of this survey. This problem of integration, as it is referred to, is far from easy though and most likely impossible. The fact is - and this is shown by the results of the survey - that many Muslims in UK hold views which are totally antithetical to modern, Western liberalism whether that's views on homosexuality or the permissibility of political violence or the role of women. How do you integrate people with these views? Multiculturalism means pluralism which implies cultural relativism so you cannot say their ideas are "wrong" or even that your ideas are better and this is where the whole Multiculturalist project falls apart because embedded in Multiculturalism is the naive assumption that we're really all the same, all believe the same things and all have the same values but the reality that is staring us in face is that this John Lennon-style utopia doesn't actually exist and there are very real unreconcilable differences. This is why I believe that ultimately the UK is heading towards civil conflict and I do not say that lightly and I certainly do not wish that upon us but historically this is what happens in societies which cannot agree on common values and common purpose.

100 million on a refit only to withdraw a type 23 a short time later. Name an MoD procurement project that is on time, on budget and doesn't requite remedial fixes. The UK spends 8 billion more on defence than France and seems to get less.

This guy is hopeless. Instead of just saying the truth he is trying to put a positive spin on a dire situation. 200 days at sea is nothing short of a scandal. People won’t stay if you treat them in this way. I notice HMS Iron Duke is now being scrapped after a £100 million refit 2 years ago. This is on top of 2 other T23’s being scrapped in the last 6 months. I have no idea how this government keeps going out making veiled threats towards Russia when we are as dreadfully vulnerable as we are.

Why should Iran make concessions. All Iran has to do nothing more then it has already. No oil or fertilizer out the Gulf hits the world economy. If they want they can spill oil from a few tankers and every water desalination plant in the Gulf gets blocked. Destroying Oil infrastructure in response to another big USA attack will see no Gulf Oil for years.

We had a large Navy because of our economy. China now has the economy we had in the 1920's etc. Look at how many ships they are building. It is not about money in absolute terms. Net zero deindustrialization has been a disaster. In world war 2, we were able to build planes like the mosquito because of the industrial manufacturing sector. It would not be possible today because we do not have the industrial redundancy/excess capacity.

These are masters of deception and they have the best resources available to poison our way of life. Just look at the narrative of "anti-Semitic hate" that pervades the media and the political establishment. They've elevated the concerns of the 0.5% of the population to the level of national threat and foreign intervention - pointing the finger at the wrong regime. Just look at the spectacle of our PM distorting reality to spook us with a threat that only exists in the feverish mind of some who want to be seen as above the law.

"If we do not deal with what is facing us in the face then we are going to face conflict". Obviously. That has been obvious to anyone sane since 1968 when Mr Powell described it in exactly those terms. Sadly, almost no-one in the UK parliament since 1968 has been even vaguely sane or remotely competent. No politician will take responsibility for the mess that they have solely caused over the past 58 years. "Is it too late". It will be very soon and if we go on as we are, the UK parliament in total denial jailing anyone that wants to sort it out, of course. Every day wasted, and Starmer no doubt will waste the next 3 years, makes the job more dangerous and more unlikely. But the alternative is the total destruction of the UK. If we only had politicians with brains then none of this would be happening, sadly we do not.

I was thinking of voting Plaid but they become very arrogant over this 2 horse race comment .Also more reticent to give too many details over policy .I fell for the ming vase approach in voting labour at general election and will not make the same mistake again

Its a disgrace to paint young British muslims in this light. Mt Mughal and and Mr Neil really need to be put out to pasture. From any Muslims perspective, the contrast between the international responses to the war in Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza is frequently highlighted as a profound example of hypocrisy, double standards, and racial bias in Western foreign policy and media coverage. While both conflicts involve the violation of sovereignty, civilian casualties, and displacement, the perception is that Western powers and institutions have applied international law, humanitarian aid, and media sympathy in a highly selective manner.

Canada needs to lift the term terrorism from Hamas Hezbollah and other Freedom Fighters in the Middle East Mark Carney needs to speak out against the illegal war in Iran and start building our own relationships with other countries without influence from the United States
